As part of my Interior Design Professional journey I'm traveling to past to learn about the history of style, decoration and architecture. I want to truly understand how humanity used their creativity, knowledge, and available tools to create a space that fulfilled their dwelling needs as well as developed social & cultural trends that lead us to the styles & designs today.
I'm learning about ancient Egyptian architecture and I'm fascinated by the beauty and magic of their creation with mainly huge blocks of stones and limited tools thousands of years ago. The beauty and depth of their creation is just beyond imagination.
Beside the breathtaking pyramids, tombs, temples and palaces ancient Egyptian built, it's the philosophy behind their architecture and design that resonated with me. The main focus behind ancient Egyptian architecture was funerary monuments and the transition from the world of the living to the world of the dead.

Symbols like lotus flowers thoughtfully used in their design to emphasis on creation and rebirth.
You see, Lotus flower closes the flower at night and sinks underwater and at dawn it rises and opens again.

This beautiful transition of dying and rebirth of lotus flower and other symbols such as the scarab beetle, KA and many more meaningful symbols that ancient Egyptians used in their design beautifully shows that they received the knowledge from the nature and applied them to their day to day life.

Nature offers beauty, wisdom, and creativity when we start looking. Nature shows us seasons change and nothing is constant but the change itself.
Nature shows us despite the cold winter and naked trees there will be spring and rebirth of leaves and flowers again.
Nature beautifully demonstrate perfection is a myth and all the trees, flowers, and plants are beautiful just the way they are. Each of them are unique and have their own style, yet they all dwell peacefully in arms of mother nature.
Nature remind us the very challenge we are dealing with at the moment is not constant and like everything else this challenge will pass.
This study and nature really inspired me to run outside and pick up some dead woods, leaves, rocks…and do some crafting. I wanted to craft some decorations to remind me of the beauty and dynamic of our natural life cycle. We are part of this nature and I cannot tell you how important it is to consciously choose the decoration around our space.

Each piece of decoration has a story to tell it's important for us to choose what story will be part of our story. It's important to surround ourselves with accessories that remind us of our beauty and magical cycle of life. A small tree branch with it's curves and dances to different directions is a pure reminder that nothing is perfect yet it's beautiful.
A dried leave used in a picture frame remind us change is the only constant and it's just the experience that we remember and we move on to the next story when the time comes.
What do you think of my crafting decorations? My home office looks so beautiful I feel so peaceful and light when I walk to my office.
